North Korea...

North Korea has announced that they have nukes. I wonder what was gained by this announcement? If they truly do have them what possible advantage do they have to saying they do? Is it meant as a deterent to attack? How about being a decent country as a deterent to attack? What a concept! If they don't really have weapons, why put yourself into that arena? Now the world will be looking to sanction them - or worse - head in there and get rid of the nukes.

Seems to me the announcement was not a savvy political move regardless of whether it is valid.
